Wetting Agent SLOTOCHROM CR 1270

Wetting Agent SLOTOCHROM CR 1270 is a polyfluoro-containing, PFOS-free, chromium(VI) resistant, surface-active wetting agent. This wetting agent significantly reduces drag-out losses from chrome electrolytes and quickly forms a closed foam layer on the surface, preventing the spraying of chrome mists. It has no effect on the chrome plating process itself.

Continuous Consumption: The continuous consumption of the wetting agent is low and primarily depends on drag-out losses.

Wetting Agent Concentrate SLOTOCHROM CR 1271: This concentrate must be diluted with water before use in chrome electrolytes. A 9:1 ratio of water to concentrate (9 parts water, 1 part concentrate) results in Wetting Agent SLOTOCHROM CR 1270.

Dosage: Typically, 0.1-0.2 ml/l of Wetting Agent SLOTOCHROM CR 1270 (diluted 9:1) is sufficient to form a foam layer on a 100-liter chrome electrolyte. The liquid should be poured and spread over the electrolyte surface. Thorough mixing occurs during electrolyte operation.

Foam Layer Maintenance: Shortly after starting the plating process, a dense foam layer forms, inhibiting spray formation. If the foam layer becomes thinner or the electrolyte solution does not flow well off the workpieces over time, an additional dose of the wetting agent may be required. Generally, approximately 0.05 ml/l of Wetting Agent SLOTOCHROM CR 1270 is sufficient
